The other day, my Mother-in-Law took my youngest son home from school for a special "Nona" date to bake some Valentine Cookies. They were too good not to share so she very kindly gave me the recipe she adapted from her friend. Also, if you missed it last week- we shared these adorable FREE printable Valentine cards HERE

Nona's Peanut Butter Blossoms

Ingredients

1 3/4 cup Flour

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 tsp soda

1/2   tsp salt

1/2  cup butter (or shortening)

1/2  cup peanut butter

1 egg

2 Tbsp Milk

1 tsp vanilla

48 milk chocolate kisses (or for a fun Valentine twist, use Reese’s Red Velvet Chocolate Cups, Hershey’s Strawberry Creme hearts, Hershey’s Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Kisses, etc!)

Instructions

Combine all ingredients, except the chocolate candies.

Blend well at low speed in an electric mixer.

Shape into balls using a rounded teaspoon for each cookie.

Roll balls in additional sugar and place on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes.

Remove from oven and top each cookie immediately with a candy chocolate, pressing down firmly so cookies crack a little.

Share and enjoy!
